NAHMA (National Affordable Housing Management Association) and AHMA-NCNH (Affordable Housing Management
Association – Northern California, Nevada, and Hawaii) are proud to kick off the annual calendar poster contest
for 2009. This is the 23rd year of the contest, and it is anticipated that 5,000 resident children, seniors, and
disabled residents will participate nationwide.
The theme for the 2009 contest is “MY HOPES, MY FUTURE: HEALTHY MINDS AND HEALTHY BODIES”
All children living in a family community of AHMA-NCNH member companies, residents
who live in senior and disabled communities of AHMA-NCNH member companies, and residents
who live in permanent supportive housing or 811 communities of AHMA-NCNH member companies
are eligible to participate. There will be three (3) prizes given to each category by AHMA-NCNH,
for a total of twenty-one (21) prizes. The local prizes are: $200.00 for each First Place, $100.00
for each Second Place, and $50.00 for each Third Place. Winners of the national contest receive educational
scholarships in the form of a check awarded by the NAHMA Educational Foundation. The national contest’s grand
prize winner, whose art will appear on the cover of the calendar, receives an educational scholarship, and a
trip to Washington D.C.. (Only Children are eligible to become the grand prize winner.)
Submissions of artwork and the required
application and new release form are due to AHMA-NCNH no later than Wednesday, May 8, 2009.
